Yesterday I did my second homerun. That means Kista - Kungsängen. Since this distance is "only" 21km I tend to extend a little bit. This time I probably overdid it. The problem yesterday was not the snow but the cold.
I started to run at 16:45. The temperature was appr -3 C at the start. I was perfectly dressed. My IPOD was pumping and it felt that I would be able to run 25k as a minimum. Last week I did 27.4km. The problem started after appr 11km. I noticed that it started to get really cold. Stubborn as I am I decided to extend, and extend and extend. So in the end I ran 28km, that was 600 meters longer than I did last week (what a coincident!).
For next time: I need to check the weather forecast.
An interesting thing that always happens to me during these winter long runs is that I get kind of a small depression after 14-15km. I don't want to run longer, I feel out of shape and just want to be home. After 18k this sensation is gone. Yesterday I actually felt really good after 24km (besides the terrible cold). The legs were reasonable fresh.
Plans for next week or the week after that: I need to go min 30km. Hopefully 33km. Problem is that noone wants to join. Hey Mr Legend, are you up for a nice LR?

Great LR-report. Of course we shall go for a 30k LR together as preparation for Skövde. Let's see if there are any chances next week..
SvaraRaderaI think I know a little bit what you are talking about when caomes to "dips" during a LR. Try this
explanation; when you are family with the course you have a mental border to break, it's all the same in Stockholm, your homerun, Växjö etc.. But at least for me when the track is "new" those half way dips doesn't appear that strong... I have felt the same shit after 13-14km (Drottningholm), but later on when I can almost touch and feel it's gone..
Great to hear about your Long run! a great challenge in those conditions.
