WE are the champions!

February 4th 2010

14:00 Snow storm, big time! this is gonna be hard. Should be cancel? Not a chance, just make sure we take it easy...I look forward!

16:00 Feeling the adrenaline. The snow storm is over. It will be difficult to run with so much snow on the roads....but we will make it, we are strong! yes!

16:30 Getting ready, I pack some money, ID, credit card, Water, Energy, camera, I´ll take some pics! Damn it! I forgot my GPS watch...oh well, my shoes are the most important, focus on positive thoughts.

17:00 I wait for my running firends, here they come, let´s go!!

02 Km - It is warm, I need to take less clothes next time. We run some slopes, a little bit hard, but ok.
12 Km - Feeling good, only 12 Km left. This is a good pass. We talk about Skövde and Ultradreams. Skövde...mmmm, maybe, why not? We take some pics and are glad and full of energy.
13 Km - We say good by to Mr legend who runs home. El Maco and I continue to Kista.
19 Km - I am tired, need energy. My sugar tablets are not enough. I get some chocolate from El Maco, I feel how my body absorbs it immediately, but it is not enough, no energy left.
21 Km - I run slowly, I hear El Maco talking about Stockholm Marathon , he sounds fresh, he is not as tired as I am. I am sure he an run much faster, but I can´t, I´m too tired. Still I think: I am happy I can do this, I can run.
22 Km - I see Kista´s buildings, so close, but still so far away, I want to be there now! stretch, take a shower and eat. I want to be home.
23,5 Km - Finally, we made it. I am exhausted, but I made it. And now I am a little bit stronger!
WE are champions!

21.00 - Home, I say hi to my little daughter, she is soooo cute. I am in a good mood, I tell Peter about this long pass, It was great. He also thinks it is great. I am thankfull because he supports me so much. Good night, time to sleep!

  1. So nice to read, I can admit I had a tough race on my own out to Tappström, but perhaps a little bit better conditions last 5km. It actually turned down to -2-3C on my way out, and that was good, since the "grip" gets a little bit better then. Bets of all is that this kind of training sessions is so good both physically & mentally.
    A 30-35km run in lets say +15-20C is a almost comparable to this....

  2. Great posting Mylay! I will try do post something later this evening or tomorrow. It was great running with you. I am so utterly impressed that you could run 23.5km. That is 6.5km longer that you have done in a long time. Just great!

    I continued for another 24 minutes after we leaft eachother. I did a 3 hour run. Ran 3:00:08. Will try to do this more often, hence not focus on the distance but focus on the time. Instead of doing 20km I might do 2 hours etc.

  3. You guys are heros! Slogging through the dark in snow, wind, cold and storm!
    Your 2010 is off to a great start!
    Once the weather starts to get nice, it will feel so easy you will feel like you are flying!
