Bike Ride #2 - No knee pain but the bike sucks

Made another bike ride today. 50km. Reasonable easy pace. I have still not received my new bike so I use Idas. Problem is that this bike is too small. I get pain in the upper part of the back.

But the really good news. No, sorry - the FANTASTIC HEROIC good news is that I can ride the bike despite my runners knee. This feels almost too good to be true. So hopefully I have a good way of keeping my health and good shape. I understand that Lidingö Ultra might be questionable but as I say - There are more Lidingö Ultras in the future. But if I am ok in my knee in 2 weeks time I think that I will do Ultra. Hence make it a run and walk day.

Mylay - what do you like the idea of making it together? I am thinking of starting in a 6:40 pace. Running as long distance as we can. After that - walk.

Mr US Coach - How many kms are you going to do before your big race?

Mr Legend - is it ok for me and Mr US Coach to include bike rides on this exclusive runner site?

  1. Good to hear that you can bike and stay in shape!! Sounds good to run together. I really plan to take it very easy, so 6:40 is a good pace for me. I only added one link in the past and it worked with the button.

  2. Hej El Maco!

I also took a bike ride today. Kind of short, but no pain at all in my leg, so like you, I think I can ramp up on the bike faster than running.

    I have two new goals:

    1) Ride 100 KMs a week until July 17th. Total 1,400 KM's before the ride.

    2) Get back to 40 KM's a week running. Total 560 KM's before July 17th.

After the ride I will have 13 weeks of more intense running training to make my original goal of a sub 4 hour Portland Marathon.

  3. Hi ! Of course you can share your biking experiences here as well, you are more than welcome, it's intresting to hear about biking as well, but the major focus for this blogg will be running.
