So, tomorrows is Christmas eve again. Vällingby marathon starts 11.00 AM. Don't be surprised if El Maco shows up anyway, he seemed so fresh and hungry today at work... What could be better than scrutinized details from Mr Legends 2009 archive.
Dubble-click to make the picture readable.......
I had to admit El Maco is so right, why the hell should you start up in a hurry when 42,2km to go. Compare Stockholm with the other three marathons I did 2009. Why, why, why was I so stressed in +25C... When will I ever learn ?
Tommorow two promises, 1) no HR above 85% until after 21km, 2) 5,45tempo first 15 to 20km.......
Good luck tomorrow! I will not run tomorrow. Made a last 4km run today. Pain in the knee after 3.8km. This is runners knee, no question about it.
SvaraRaderaRegarding tomorrow. I would say that you can't start too slow. I can almost promise (unfortunately) that you will start in 5:30 pace. This means that your HR will be too high after 25km and you will have to pay for that during the last 12km. So please. Start 5:50 pace. Not 5:45 and not 5:35. Keep that discipline during the first 21km. That means that you will hit 1/2 marathon at 2:00. Perfect! You will have had a good HR and you will not die during the last 7km. Please Mr Legend. To this for old El Maco who cannot particiapate tomorrow!
Good luck man!
Good luck tomorrow Mr Legend!! I look forward to seeing some pictures and reading the details about this marathon.
SvaraRaderaEl Maco, sorry to hear you are not running tomorrow. A wise decision, I guess. It makes me think of 2008 when I had to give up Stockholm Marathon because I was 7 Kg too heavy and a baby was growing in my stomach. I was not so happy to give up, but it was a wise decision....
Great analysis!
SvaraRaderaLycka till!
You will be a true pace hero if you run negative splits (faster second half than the first!)
Thanks a lot all of you ! The message is clear,
SvaraRaderaI will try .... K./.
