Mylay Hernández, the Ultrarunner :)

Hi guys!

I made it! I am so happy and so proud. I can finally call my self Ultra runner, UltraMylay :)
My strategy was simple: take it very easy, enjoy the views and the atmosphere, stop in every station (one every 5 km, great), drink, eat. Walk in every hill (I think almost everyone does that). I thought I would run 30 Km and walk 20Km. But after 30 Km it felt good, so I kept on running. And after 40 Km it was still good, so I just continued until the end, 50Km. The longest I have ran ever. The weather was perfect in my opinion, I think it is harder to run when it is warm. It rained in the last 10Km, but not too much.
If I compare to Stockholm Marathon, this was much nicer because I didn´t have any time pressure so I didn´t suffer. Stockholm Marathon last year was warm and definitely much tougher for me than today. I got my nice medal in cristal, I want to wear it every day :).
Thank you guys for all your support and advices. Maco, I bought the gel you told me and started using it yesterday, and Ipren also. My knees feel good, maybe it helped!
Mr Legend it was great to see you there in the start line and run a little with you, I think we ran together about 2 km? I saw your result, great! I ran in 6 hours and 20 min, I am happy! I thought it would take between 7-8 hours!
See you soon guys!

  3. Wow! Mylay, you have really set a high standard for those of us who have not acheived Ultra status yet! And to do 50 KM's through all those hills is Uber Ultra!

    Congratulations!

  4. Thanks Kent, I´ll update it now!
Maco: thanks, It is crazy!! Yes, I´ll be careful with my knee. On monday I was totally exhausted and I think I am catching a cold. I guess my immune system is weak after running such a long distance. So I will eat well and try to sleep a lot. We missed you there, but there will be more times to run together, we are "Lifetimerunners"!!!
Mr US Coach: Thank you! I almost can not believe it myself, I am really happy. By the way, don´t you feel some pressure now to become Ultra? ;)
