This is the first week with strong medicine. Do I feel better? Yes I do. Yesterday I took a short run. A really short run. 1/20 of the distance that Mylay and Mr Legend ran. 2.5km. 6:30 pace. Did it feel good? Not really.
Today I tried a bike ride. It felt much better. Did 32km. Slow slow. Lowered the saddle. But it felt almost good. I have now rested for 4 hours after the bike ride and it still doesn't hurt. This is very good news.
Stockholm Marathon vs Vätternrundan
I would say that I will probably go for Vätternrundan. It feels that running is so much more kneestuff than riding the bike. I will try to run Stockholm Marathon. Probability that I do it - 5%. Vätternrundan? Probability 50%.
So what have I learned? I have learned this:
Inflammation - how to treat it
1. Go to the doctor right away.
2. Get good strong medicine (hence stronger than Ipren). 1 per day
3. Buy Ketoprofen Gel at Apoteket. No prespricption needed. Massage it on the spot 2-3 minutes. Do this 3 times a day
4. Ice! Ice! Use ice on the inflammation spot! I didn't do this in the beginning (sorry Mr US Coach, I know that you told me the above after 3 days...). But Ice. Really good!
So basically - lessons learned!

Nice to read that you tried some biking & running this weekend. Take your time.
SvaraRaderaThanks for the "fix the imflammation table"...we all have to learn from this.
Sounds promising on the bike! And don't worry about speed! You are coming off a significant injury and a long time of not exercising. Focus on building up your distance slowly. It is endurance that will get you through Vätternrundan comfortably. You don't need speed. And you absolutely do not want to re-injure yourself!
SvaraRaderaYes, good lesson for all of us.
SvaraRaderaSorry to hear that you are still in pain but great that you found such a good doctor.
I haven´t booked my appointment yet, I´ll do that!!!
I hope your knees get well soon so that we can all run Stockholm Marathon.
