Sthlm marathon history Mr L back in 1996

Just a last teaser from my hudge archive here if you may think don't have enough of training before a marathon !

Mr L almost at the finishing line in Stockholm in 1996.
Time: 3,55,40
Training distance Jan-May : 334km
Training LR > 21,0km  : 0

Just kidding of course, the training I did back in the 90th was not optimal by many, many reasons. Just thinking about what I could have done if I had a Garmin and some discipline in 1996. Around 3.18 wouldn't have been impossible I think. I could take so much pain, like a new born kid, only 30years old...... oh,,,,, those where the days :-)

  1. wow Kent, great pic! But look, you are still strong and making better times than me and many other younger people.
I also thin about what I would have done If I had started running races in my 20:s.ut Ill never know. The good thing is that we can still become good ultrarunners.
It was great to run a little with you in Stockholm Marathon today, you looked strong. I started too fast (you probably saw that already). I paid the consequences aftr 30km ,I got extremely tired. I´ll write more about it tomrrow or monday, now I am too exhausted. ANyway, I am glad I made it and the time is not so bad.
    Kram och GRATTIS!!!

  2. You are the winner Mylay, you noted personal record. I can promise you, that is something you will not do every year :-). I agree, I guess you should also easily been sub 4 hours if you stayed calm first 10km. I believe (El MAco has finally convinced me, you can start first 10k in 5,50 if you like, you will have it all back after 30km.) I have felt exactly like you after 30km so many, many, many times. But you did it great anyway, it's an enormous strenght to fight last 12k if you run to fast first 10 or 20km....
