El Maco crazy week - status report

I understand. Too few rest days. But still, I feel pretty good this week. I have two good recovery runs this week. Check the pace on my last run yesterday. Averge pace 6:47. Pretty good if you ask me!

I also think that I actually have lower HR during this week than I normlly have. Does the body adapt so fast? Hence, ok the man is running frequently now, I have to reduce the HR?

  1. What you have to remember is that your slemsäckar do not give a s**t about your heart rate, and that ramping up distance too fast can be just as detrimental to your knees as running in Björnrike!
Here are some fateful comments written by El Maco last time he was ramping up!

All 74 km (weekly total) were not hilly, but still å good distance. 13 days to next marathon.

  2. Sad to read...and even sadder is that I haven't learned a thing!

  3. But hopefully it's not too late! (Unless you are secretly hiding another injury from the blog!)
You've built up a good base of running again, and now you need to decide on your goals.
If you are trying to run a personal best time in either Lidingo or Vaxjo, then you should set your training plan for that. (Scheduled long runs, easy runs, speedwork and rest).
If you just enjoy running, and want to do what you can to avoid injury, then you should reduce the distance, and not start any speedwork.
If all you are trying to do is log as many KM's as possible, regardless of the risk of injury, then continue on what you are doing.
