Time to focus and get some distance on the board!

Ok guys. Sleeping period is over. UltraMylay has still not updated Facts and Figures for some of the previous months. Mr 3:19:57 seems to be gone forever and Mr US Coach seems to do more bike riding than running. The only guy who seems to be focused is Mr Legend who continues to do his 200km per month.

As for me its time to ramp up a notch or two. It's time to smash those silly week records that we have on Facts and Figures. This week will be a >100km week for El Maco. I know that it might be stupid but I want to do something special during July.

I also want to push all of you to do something on the Facts and Figure board. Please, do a good week and get your name on the week top 10! Mr Legend will create a new chart Month top 10. So why not do a monster August and get yourself up on that board.

I would also like to mention that running once a day might not always be the best thing. Why not, sometimes, run two workouts! You can start with a nice 13km run during the morning. During the evening you take a very slow 5km run. That will add up distance. Yes I know what you say, rest. Everyone needs to rest. Yes I agree. But if you run very slowly this will be no problem.

So Mr US Coach, UltraMylay, Mr Legend, Mr Mizuno, Mr W, Mr 3:19:57. The records are out to grab. Next week, minimum 70km, ok? That is one LR and 5 other 10km runs. Should be easily achieved.

Any comments

  1. Agreed that this is the time to ramp up.
I will shoot for 70 KM next week. It fits into the plan I have been following. (No El Maco jump to 100 KM for me!) Only challenge will be that I will be back in Dallas Wednesday - Friday. (And the forecast shows 38 degrees again!)

  2. Ah! Great to read your comment Mr US Coach. I will be following every step on the way. Will be great to have you on the weekly top board as well!

Mr W? Mr 3:19:57? Mr Mizuno? Mr Legend? Gone gone gone.

  3. Of course I am in ! My target is to keep those 200km per month rest of 2010. This week will land on appox. 70km, but the only reason for that is that I have struggled with a sommer cold that forced me to step down a little in the mid-weeks of July. Karlstad Ultra 6-hours is my next goal in September, so I will now hopefully start reporting weekly LR,s as usual.. But weeks beyond 70km will not be reported so frequently from me.

I will also pray for El Maco, what ever happens, don't you get injured now, +100km per week is a not an easy task. But I am happy to see that the bulk-distance in GC seems to be on ER, RR basis..

A new top10 monthly distance table will come up on facts and figures on Sunday Aug 1st. I absolutley agree with El Maco, it would be so nice to see all of us popping up in the different tables. Just let me know if need any other follow up tables !!

  4. Great to hear your comments. Mr USC and Mr L, if you are planning to do 70km, why not extend it just a little bit and climb the board?

  5. I´ve been dead for a long time, I know, and the hips are the big issue. Feel pain in both, sometimes when I don´t run, but more often after runs. Anyway I´ve done some runs now. Today 16 km with a break after 8. Felt quite good!'
100k in a week! El Maco is really ramping up!
