Shit. I wrote an entire blog posting and incidently deleted the entire posting. That sucks! Anyway, I wrote that I did an involuntarily long run two days ago, check it out on GC.´
I ran 50km this week. 4 runs. Next week I will hopefully do >84km but much less than 122km. I will have at least one rest day, might even have two rest days. Some days will be double runs.

I noticed that Mr Legend made his last long run at Munsö today. Nostalgic! Please give us your view about this Mr Legend!
Another thing that you will find totally crazy. Guess what Ida and I started today. We started with the LCHF diet. Yes you read right. Low Carb - High Fat. Why? Well Idas cousing just loves this. Her stomach problem is gone. As you might know I have stomach problems. So here we go. Today I ate a lot of eggs, bacon, mayonaisse (spelling?), meat etc. I guess you will now say that - hey El Maco. Low on carbs? Running? Is that really ok. And the answer? I don't know!
Comments? Shoot!
El Maco! Keep us posted on this new diet of yours!
SvaraRaderaDr. SB says:
Are you still taking medicine (Brexidol, Ipren)?
Those can really eat at your stomach.
Also, some of the other supplements your are taking could be causing stomach issues.
BTW, had a good long run today:

Posted my stats on the facts and figures worksheet.
Great to see your LR and the nice name on facts and figures!
SvaraRaderaI understand that Magnesium can really mess the stomach up totally...
Mr US Coach, how big is the LCHF diet in the US? Commonly spread?
In the long term you will suffer a lot if you did not eat enough with carbs. You will definitely not be able to manage your long runing weeks due to the fact that you will loose power. Of course you can get your body ue to burn fat instead of carbs but in the long term you will wear out your body, not recommended with LCHF for long distance runners.
SvaraRaderaÏt will be interesting to see how the body reacts this week. I will not do a monster week but the distance will be long (hopefully). How will my body react to the low carb intake = interesting.
SvaraRaderaMr3:19:57, have you tried this yourself?
LCHF by that name is not well known in the US, but other similar approaches like the Atkins Diet have been popular, (with mixed reviews from the medical community).
SvaraRaderaI think it can be effective for obese people to lose weight, or for people with specific conditions (like diabetes) but I would say you would be much better off following a standard diet, especially as you are in high to hyper training mode. You may feel ok for a while on LCHF, but I agree with Mr. 3:19:57 that for sustained energy, you will be doing yourself a disservice.
It's probable that your stomach issues are from something else? As noted above, medicine, and supplements are a likely culprit. Or possibly
gluten? Other allergies? Stress?
On another note, how are the slemsäckar after your big week?
Slemsäckar are ok. The legs were very tired today. I was very tired today. Due to the diet? The massive amount of training lately?
SvaraRaderaThe difference with Atkins is that you can eat slow carbos:
You probably already know about basic physical facts, but anyhow,
SvaraRadera1. Your body must work harder to use fat as energy and you will be more tired.
2. If the carb-stock is empty and you proceed training hard you will burn fat and muscles, loose weight and get exhausted.
3. Carbs are essential for your brain
When your body get used to "no carbs" it will adopt to "burn fat" and it will probably work for a while but you will wear your body.
Carbs are fast energy - fat/muscles are slow energy and your body must work harder to burn it.
El Maco, do you really think you'll be better off on LCHF? Where do you see any upside?
SvaraRaderaActually I don't know. Hopefully a better stomach. I havent had "good shit" in 14 years. after three days of LCHF I feel very good actually. I do not have this craving for something to eat between meals. Today I had breakfast 2 eggs, some bacon and filmjölk. Lunch was bacon, eggs, good sallad and mayo. Dinner was "flower coal" in oven with cream, Cheese and garlic together with bolgonese sause and sallad.
