Homerun 14 ..... felt more like a semi-longrun

Homerun 14 was unbelievable, it actually felt more like a semi long run. I never got the pure "LR-kick".... Ok, one minus, I was forced to stop for a 30 sek p-paus on Lovö, bad, very bad preparation, drunk to much just before take off.....
One thing is for sure, my body is now fully prepared for weekly LR,s. Now I am looking forward to Växjö, my last marathon in 2010.
After that I will present my 2011 plans. Perhaps (like it feels right now), I will only go for Ultras in 2011.....
Even tough I was so extremely lucky to cross the 4 hour barrier in Stockholm this year, perhaps Ultra-running
is my future, it's an extrem kick, it's so social, it's a mental psycological war with yourself.... and the endorfin-kick afterwards, don't you talk about it, it's stays for a week :-)..........

    As for me, "balanced" is not directly how I would describe my training! I have been basically walking through workouts lately, especially these last few days back here in Dallas again, but I am looking forward to Portland marathon, and will be happy with any result that is not DNS or DNF!

  2. Great to read this. Ultras. Yes I agree, they are fantastic. I have only done one but I loved every step of it. I guess this was your last long run before Växjö?

  3. Looks like your decision not pushing max in the last hour in Karlstad enabled your body to recover fast from that race so you could safely and quickly resume with your LR's. Music to my ears ! I know so well the "feelgood" a LR makes and I can't wait (but I have to...) to come back as longrunner.
    BTW: My knee is still ok so I'm back on track.
