The history about rolling photo

Mr L challenged me to tell about the rolling photo.
This was my last run with a startnumber. And the first one since Stockholm Marathon 2005 (which killed my piriformis and hips). A local 10Km run with only 40 participants, but a nice race in wonderful surroundings. During winter 2008 I did some cross-country skiing which was good medicine and I felt quite good in my hips and running went quite well so I opted for the local run. I thought, yes - now I'm back again ! I trained for a couple of months til the race in June. I finished in 56 minutes which was an OK time for me with my injury background. However, I was stupid enough to push it more and too fast, and continued with 13, 14 and 15 Km runs a few weeks after the run. I felt good and ignored the sneeking pain and stiff muscels. So I got my lesson learned because my piriformis, and the hip system went crazy again. I had to retire from running and was depressed and it went on for a year.
As you know, I got some proffesional help from a sports injury specialist in June this year (2010) and now I'm on my way back with a good plan that has worked for approximately 4 months and will keep to the plan. This time I will let it take the time it has to take - no rush, but be smart. Tomorrow Saturday I'm planning for a 10+ km run. We got 10cm wet snow today so I'll decide tomorrow if I do it outdoors or on my threadmill.

  1. A great story Mr W. Welcome to the little hall of fame up in LR,s upper left corner. You belong there... Have a good 10+ run today, I will perhaps go for 7-10km later today. We will have Patrick & Annika for dinner this evening. Patrick is forever my biggest failiure, I can never get him up on LR,s .... And one more thing bye the way, just let me know if you like to share our facts and figures document. We would love to see a Mr W column there as well.
