January to March
It's time to make a recap of 2010. This was a year of great success and big failure from a running and biking perspective.
I started the year great. Had a lot of good long runs and maintained >200km per month during the first three months. My first ultra race (report can be found below) was probably the greatest experience during 2010. I loved the fact to run in a very slow pace (6:30 min / km) and to keep on running. No stress to deliver a specific time or distance.
After Skövde (mid March) I did a lot of things wrong. I didn't rest (took one day off and then ran 16 days in a row, including the devastating Björnrike days). We had a very nice skiing vacation in Björnrike. I haven't been skiing for 15 years and now was the time. Great fun! Problem was that I ran every evening in Björnrike - very very hilly. When I came home I had a lot of pain in the right knee. After a month I got the diagnose Bursa inflammation. Got some strong medicine and was able to run a little bit during the end of May. You can say that almost three running months were destroyed due to beginner mistakes.
Skövde 6-timmars

Apr - June
I think that I ran appr 20 km in April and 25km in May. The pain was there all the time. I managed to do some bike riding (the bursas are not that strained on a bike as they are running). April and May were the really tough months for me during 2010. I couldn't run - I couldn't do anything.
Below you will find the links to the blog posts during this time. As always I can't get it to work to have a link attached. So I guess you have to copy paste these links into your browser. Anyway - there are some good lesson learned from these link.

Jul - Sep
Great months! I did 100km of running in June and the pain was gone. I felt so good! Tired, exhausted since my conditioning was gone but I was so happy that I could run again!!! I did 287km in July, 279km in August and 235 km in September. The shape was getting there and there was no pain at all from the bursas! I had a good Ligingölopp and I now felt that I was really 100% back to running. A very very good feeling
Lidingöloppet

Oct - Dec
Lidingö was good. I think I have to say that Växjö was good as well. I was tired but still - I did it sub 4 hours and I was back on track again! Mr L did an excellent marathon and I guess you can say that this shows how strong the effect of continuous running is - lesson learned - don't get injured!
Växjö Marathon

December was an interesting month. For some reason I wanted to do more than 300km during December. I managed to do that but as you all know - December was a really snowy and cold month in Sweden.

Goals 2011
There will be no time goals at all for 2011. My plans are now to run:
Skövde 6-timmars (mid March)
Lidingö Ultra (beginning May)
Stockholm Marathon (May 28 - signed up)
Vätternrundan (June 17 - signed up)
Lidingöloppet (end September)
Växjö marathon (mid October)
I have some small plans to do this (I guess I will not do it but it sounds great fun http://www.fotrally.se/ )
I have also plan to do a 12 hour run. This will probably take place during 2012 but if someone out there wants to take the challenge then I am all in for it! Skövde has a nice ultrafestival end of August)
Time to say goodbye for this time. And these shoes will also say goodbye. They have done far too many kms. Need to buy a new pair (again).

El Maco
A splendid summary as usual El Maco ! I hope I can join you for at least some of the 2011 events :-)
SvaraRaderaAnd yes, the "fotrally" sound so cool but a real challange at that time of year !
