Oslo marathon report

My first Oslo marathon was a nice experience. In full control from start to goal. The only conserns I had was that I had missunderstood the track totally. I though it was all about 2 * 10,5 + 1 * 21,1..... That was so wrong. It was 2 times a 21,1k lap. Major part of the route was laid in the city area (Karl Johan, Rådhusplatsen, Akkers brygga etc..), and many streets where very crowded....
I passed half marathon after appr. 1.53 with my 85% level reached at that time (more or less exactly like in Sthlm this year), and tried after that to continue the same pace, but still without flying away above my 90%-level.... I was not able to make equal splits, a couple of 5,35 - 5,40 kilometers was needed out on last 10k, but I anyway very happy with my 3.48.54. My old friend Patrick was unbeatable as usual, he passed my already after 10,5km and ended up on 3.45.15. The wheater was perfect, 13-15C and partly sunny and no wind !!
I can absolutely recommend Oslo marathon. The only small minus was to few refreshment-station, so my "perfecta-belt" was a wise decision.... Thanks to Mr W with his lovely family and also to Annica, Marre & Tobbe who made this race unforgettable :-)

Mr L. I think you should put Växjö marathon and Chucks 1/2 marathon in Focus on LR now!

  2. Great Race Mr. L!

Sorry for the late comment. For some reason I can't "Sign In" to LR from my work PC, and I was out of town all week.

Should be a good race. But for me (no sandbagging here) based on my current training, I do not expect much. I will look for other races this winter to stay on track for Jubilee Marathon 2012!
