September 2011 - A fantastic month

September is now closed and I managed to do an amazing 301km. I know that most of you are not that impressed when it comes to distance. But for me it says that I am totally committed and that I have what it takes in order to prioritize running. I have no pain at all when I am running. The strategy is to run really slow on most runs (5:45 - 6:00 pace), one quality run every 7-10th day and then long runs in between.

Looking ahead
Like the plane above I am now in a forward motion. I am looking ahead. This time to Växjö marathon. I am prepared and I am ready. This time you will see no sandbagging at all from El Maco. I will break my record from 2007. I want to push it. I want to, at least, do sub 3:40. Sub 3:36 would be cool.

Strategy will be, once again, to maintain a good HR during the race. Compared to Öland I think that I am now even better trained, more quality runs and the temperature will probably be around 10 C instead of 23 C. The course is also totally flat. Everything says - El Maco - go for it! Grab that gold medal! This is it!

Anything above sub 3:40 will be a disappointment. As always you never now what happens during the race day. But I will make sure that I am super prepared and that nothing can get in the way of the new record!

  1. Yo El Maco!

Great post! It is excellent that you are fired up for Vaxjo, and keep focusing on the positives! You won't know what race day will bring, but on paper, it looks like you have done everything you can to ensure success!
