March 2012!

Ok! Spring is on it's way!  The clock changes to summer time for us here in the US next week, and it's time for me to ramp up.  Unfortunately, I was not very smart about my first race selection, and I'll have to put up a DNS for the 10K fun run I signed up to do next Sunday due to a conflicting commitment.  Oh well, that won't prevent me from completing a workout. My goal is to add 2 KM's to my long run each week, with an occasional rest week, until I get up to 30 KM's (I am at 11 KM "long run" now).  I don't plan to break any records at Jubilee Marathon, but hopefully I'll be able to finish feeling good about the race.

  1. Great to hear from you. Of course I am a little bit concerned about your "adding of 2km every week". Will this work for you or will you be stuffed with work again? Hence is this an honest plan? Will you make this work? Jubilee marathon is approaching - fast! I fully understand that you don't plan do break any records. But it's so much nicer if you can complete it in a good way, not having to walk the last 10km.

So go for it! Take those longer runs. And you might want to consider if you can't take bigger leaps. Maybe you from 12 to 15km. From 15k to 18km.

    1. Nice to hear that you have springtime now in Seattle. Take your time when ramping up, rather listening to your bodies own signals than a to structured plan. The Jubilee marathon is absolutely not the last one for any of us :-)
