My alternative to barefoot & sandals

Hi !

For the first time ever i tested my very cheap 99 SEK textile-shoes this morning for a 4km run.  It works perfectly fine for me, not the same feeling as barefoot of course, but maybe more similar to the Luna Sandals.... This will most likely be my main alternative to supportive shoes, that I can hopefully use at least 10month a year.  I will bye 10 pairs of these ones :-)

And..... of course, greatest thanks Mr W for the inspiration. We all saw it so clear when you where running with us on Adelsö. It was something totally different :-) :-)

  1. Mr L. Explain the reason for using these kind of shoes? Isnt the nice thing with running barefoot according to Mr W that you have the feeling that the feet are "naked" and they are not "capsuled" in a shoe. Now if you run in these kind of shoes - dont you miss that "barefoot feeling"?

    Mr W - what are your commentS?

  2. Mr L, nice to hear that I have inspired you :) And my hat off for "thinking outside the box" and trying new ideas ! I think that one of the benefits with barefoot, minimal sandals like Luna and also Vibram 5-fingers is that the toes can move freely. I have learned to use my toes much more actively when running barefoot and think the toes can contribute positive in the running. The shoes you are running in have probably the soles we are looking for, but they are incapsulating the toes which I think won't give the same benefits as "free toes". But as an alternative and variation it might work. Greetings from W who is in his 3rd day of seven water fasting days. (no food or drink other than water)

  3. Mr W. Fasting due to religious reasons or other reasons? If other reasons - why?

    I am actually christian I some 10 years ago I used to do fasting (for religious reaons).

  4. I fast for health reasons, nothing else. New knowledge indicate fasting is miracoulus for health. Like we are born to run, our body is also designed to cope without food for periods - and the body repairs and cures itslef during this period without food.   5. Oh, cool, Mr W you have taken up the fasting again. I have also heard a lot of positive effects on your health after a fasting period.....

    I fully agree that barefoot is the ultimate thing, but this is a good startup approach for me I guess. Even in these thin soles I can clearly feel the difference. I am forced to touch ground more in the front of my foot then the heals. I also felt a little bit of "foot burning" afterwards , even if not as intensive as after barefoot running.
